The Brooklyn Daily Eagle recently featured a story on Pratt's planned "green" building and its 2008 Design Award of Honor from the Society of American Registered Architects, New York. The building, currently under construction at 524 Myrtle Avenue, was designed by WASA/Studio A.
Metropolis Magazine's POV Blog featured a post detailing a Pratt urban-design studio's approach to issues surrounding climate change. The studio was taught by professors Viren Brahmbhatt and Meta Brunzema.
Pratt Manhattan Gallery's "Broadcast" exhibition was recently featured as a Time Out New York's "Own This City: Museums" Critic's Pick. The exhibition runs now through May 2, 2009 at the gallery, located at 144 W. 14 Street.
Pratt's graduate program in interior design was ranked first in the country, based on surveys completed by industry professionals. Undergraduate interior design, graduate and undergraduate industrial design, and undergraduate architecture programs were ranked 2, 3, 6, and 12, respectively.
Pratt's School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Department of Social Science and Cultural Studies will host renowned photographer Susan Meiselas as its Scholar in Residence from March 31 to April 2. Meiselas' keynote presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 1 at 5 p.m. in Memorial Hall and is free and open to the public.
